Ignatius Catholic Bible - Revised Standard Version
A popular translation for both scholars and devotional readers, the Revised Standard Version was completed in the mid-20th century as a readable yet very accurate translation from the original Greek and Hebrew texts. The RSV occasionally uses what might be termed "Old English", making it both beautiful and modern at the same time. The RSV (as opposed to NRSV) does not use inclusive language. The Catholic Edition includes all books accepted by the Roman Catholic Church as divinely inspired -- other denominations frequently refer to some of the Old Testament books as "deuterocanonical" or "apocrypha".
